Gagandas Bhawandas grew to become one of the largest exporters of textiles and general goods to all Gulf countries. Trade was supported by the company-owned seaworthy boats that transported goods from Karachi to the Gulf
Following the partition of India, Gagandas Bhawandas relocated to Bombay where they set up offices and continued to prosper as a trading company to the Gulf region
